James attended Thiel college on a football scholarship, earning his Bachelor’s in Accounting and Business Administration. After relocating to Pittsburgh, he began his career in construction accounting, eventually starting his own business, Books and Balances in 2007. James assisted low income tax filers with an alternative to the Rapid Refund Loan, flexing his skills, by getting refunds in just 10 days! Alongside this, James coached high school football for 10 years.
James currently uses his passion for coaching to empower entrepreneurs with a complete understanding of how their business is viewed from a financial standpoint.
✨ Fun fact: During one of the off seasons of construction, James drove an ice cream truck where he gained important experience in inventory management, building relationships, and investing in future returns. When James isn’t crunching numbers, he enjoys fishing, chess and billiards.
Cindy and James share similar backgrounds in accounting, but both bring a unique focus to the business. James contributes his detailed, analytical eye, while Cindy offers her forethought and big picture thinking. Overall, C&J shares a passion for teaching, and showing entrepreneurs the power of their goals.
