In Part 1 of our interview with Judy Masucci, Judy shares her career journey, explaining that she initially worked as a PhD scientist in corporate America. However, her career path shifted after becoming pregnant and having her son, which led her to transition into the women’s clothing industry.
As a breastfeeding mom, Judy saw a business opportunity in providing solutions to other new mothers. Her initial business was A Mother’s Boutique—where the goal was bringing breastfeeding friendly clothing to the Pittsburgh area. Bras were originally an afterthought in the store, but eventually became her bread and butter.
The market quickly pulled Judy toward her brand as we know it today, as women flocked to her nursing bras due to a lack of size inclusive bras available in stores. Seeing a clear demand, Judy revamped her business and overhauled her stock, transitioning from nursing clothing and bras to regular ones—and Levana Bratique was born ✨
Like every business during COVID, Levana Bratique had to evolve. However, Judy reflects on some of the positive changes that were brought about, including taking appointments. This seemingly small change ultimately streamlined and improved Levana Bratique’s service for both employees and clients.
